Our Story

Hi, I'm Jimena - the founder of TVA.

Vintage has always been in my life. I came from a single-parent immigrant household where money was always tight and thrift store outings with my mom to find vintage treasure became our small adventures. 

While in college, that passion only grew stronger. I began repairing and selling vintage clothes to help cover my tuition, while secretly always wishing I could have my own brand. Then, when I graduated during the pandemic, I couldn’t find a job - and months went by with rejection after rejection. Finally after 6 months with 0 leads, I realized that maybe this was the time to pursue my dream.

So, In the summer 2021, I launched The Vintage Ave from a tiny 300sqft apartment in downtown Miami with a maxed out $2,000 credit card, juggling PT three jobs and many sleepless nights.

For the first 2 years, I worked on the brand part-time. Then in 2023, I quit my side jobs and fully took a leap into TVA. For a while, it was me doing it all - until 2024, when we were able to hire our first employee (our wonderful ecomm photographer). 

Nowadays, our team of 4 specializes in sourcing, photographing, and authenticating one-of-a-kind vintage designer bags for one-of-a-kind women. Pieces that are thoughtfully curated, timeless, and meant to be worn with confidence.
